Description
Sherwood Kingswood Rough Shooting Waterproof Trousers
Kingswood trousers are designed with the rough shooter in mind, the durable reinforced front and butt are made to withstand the rigours of the countryside; briars, thorns and bramble of all sorts which were designed to destroy clothing and scratch the skin of the poor unsuspecting rambler.
Although these trousers are designed for shooting they can be used for nearly any service which will benefit from keeping the wearer both dry and covered. The Kingswood trousers are designed to be worn as a trouser, not as an over trouser, but have sufficient room in them so as to allow for light garments to be worn underneath. For added comfort the waist line which is kept closed by both a heavy duty pop stud and velcro strip, has elasticated sides which can allow for expansion and contraction. Just in case all of these features are not enough to keep your trousers up then there are also belt loops which can easily house a 1.5″ leather belt, which are available in store incidentally.
There are several zip closed pockets which can help to prevent unnecessarily losing small articles such as keys, pocket knife, wallet, lighter, string, marbles or any other object a man may have in his pocket, there are two and pockets with zips on the front and two hip pockets with zips on the back. On the right thigh there is a bellowed cargo pocket with velcro closed flap.
On the leg of the Kingswood Trouser there is a zipper which is used to widen the hem of the leg, this can be useful when fitting out over the leg of the wellingtons or other boots, but may be too narrow to allow removing the trousers over some of the more chunky soled trekking boots available, such as the Keeper or the Oak from Gri Sport.
As with all articles of this nature, proper care and maintenance will help to prolong the longevity of the trousers, the product label recommends hand washing, most washing machines do have a hand washing programme and it is best practice to use a non detergent soap such as Nikwax Tech Wash or similar product, good old fashioned soap flakes are also up to the task.
